And what a sham this life is; as we put on our masks and start the day, striking a pose, following a path hundreds have trudged before. Though I scream in my sleep,"This drab fate will never be mine". I will wake up in a darker time full of shadows and shells of what was once beauty. Tarnished treasure will be kept dear, locked in a box, hidden in a closet, surrounded by a gray room, in a bleak house, on a lonely street, in a ghost town.
